Laurel Crown Recipients
Laurel Crowns are awarded to Soul Food Community members who make art and writing a daily practice and regularly publish and support the creative endeavours of others at the Pythian Games.
Anita Marie Moscoso
Anita Marie Moscoso is a true votary of Soul Food and she has turned writing, on a daily basis, into a life style. Her blogs are constantly updated and this Christmas she has been producing a story a day at Riversleigh.
Cold Storage is Anita Marie’s Soul Food Workbook, the place which she calls her own little cyber morgue. The only thing is, Cold Storage is very much alive, as indeed, are all the dead that A.M.M. so capably breathes life into.
It is hard to know just what use people do make of the creative stimuli at Soul Food but there is no doubt that Anita Marie has taken the prompts offered and given them a very special take. She always manages to surprise webmaster, Heather Blakey, who regularly asks if she ‘is trying to frighten’ the residents. However, the residents just keep asking for more so there is no saving them. They all conspire and Mrs Parson’s House was a much visited property over Halloween.
Anita Marie Moscoso is a much valued member of Soul Food and a worthy recipient of the Laurel Crown Award.
Kerry Vincent
Kerry Vincent has been clocking up the writing miles for three months at the Pythian Games and now has a substantial body of creative work to show for her commitment. Kerry has made writing and art a daily practice and can now proudly wear a very special, Pythian Games, Laurel Crown.
AMM – You send us shivers – and we come back for more, silly mortals that we be! Congrats – may you continue to rise to scary heights!

Anita Marie, your stories are incredible, original, not to forget highly scary and unsettling. They are also very witty and clever. Congratulations on this well deserved prestigious award.

Your are both special. Anita Marie: When is the book coming out? Your stories are ready for publication and deserve a wide review: original, exciting, entertaining.
Kerry: Keep it up. So much energy is exciting to watch. Fran

WOW – I am so shocked – and honored – to be considered in the same group with the rest of you talented artists – Laurel Crowns are for the REAL SFC divas – like Anita Marie – this writer is speechless. And it’s all been the most fun I can have with my clothes on – (though honestly, I have been known to write at the PC in my jammies)*.
*Never make hot glass beads using a blow torch wearing a tank top, shorts, or no shoes. Those bits of flying hot glass BURN!**
**Never put the wrong end of a hot rod of glass in your mouth while reaching for another tool – I almost pierced my own tongue via cauterization one night!
Thank you, Le Enchanteur, ravens, and my Good Muse/Bad Muse…

As they say at Renaissance Faires: Huzzah Anita Marie! Huzzah Kerry!
Now, where’s the mead…? But the green stuff will do nicely, too!
