Oh, Vi, I love this! Can you tell me how you did this? This is the effect I have been trying to achieve in some of my images (a woodblock print effect).

Vi, the composition and color here is lovely. As if a soft fog had washed away all but the heart of the flowers. -Q

Whew, Vi, if you can do something this beautiful when you’re “lopsided” imagine what you’ll produce when you’re back to normal! This really is beautiful!

Here is a copy, traveller, of what I wrote to Lori. As I told her, I don’t keep notes on exactly what I do when I’m working an image, guess I should, eh? This is pretty much what I did:
I know that I started with the picture In Kodak’s Easy Share software. There, I spotlit the image and played a little with color balance and scene balance. Then I transferred it into Photoshop Elements where I played around with filters. I started with Posterize, Diffuse Glow, and Texturizer. I finished with Invert. I have found the latter doesn’t often work well, but in this case the imaage lent itself to the adjustment. It took me forever working as I am one eyed when it comes to close-up work. Hope this helps at least a little.

How beautiful! I am also trying my hand at Photoshop for the first time, and am amazed at the things you can do. Thanks for sharing.
