Windy Day of Woe
This wind could push a freighter through rough water.
This wind could rock skyscrapers to and fro.
Instead this wind split trees upon my green lawn,
and laughed at me as I cried, “Wind, please go.”

Hey, I finally found your “Windy Day.” A story of few words that says so much and so descriptively.
I like your windy day poem. We had one of those here yesterday and today, too. You express this quite well.
We seem to be on a “nature is out to get us” theme today. Well spoken.
a lovely bit of fun although losing a tree is never good.
I live in one of the windiest cities on Austrlia’s west coast - we havr had a few sleepless nights this week listening to the wind howl around the house . The wind is so relentless in an area just south of town that the trees grow sideways, I found some decent pix here: http://www.uq.net.au/~zzpeande/eclfeb99.htm
If you can’t link I will post soon.
The power of the wind is incredible. Sounds like a fierce wind to me.
